Mouse is Castledon's new Sponsor Dog!

Mouse takes over from our beloved Sponsor Dog, Elmo..

Introducing 'Mouse' who is now Casledon's Sponsor Dog. Mouse is a Lurcher of around 8 Years of age, but sadly we don't know much about his history, just that he's had a rough time.
It was a bit of a 'rescue mission' to get Mouse safe, and we had to get him very quickly and he was a very long way away from us in Essex. Castledon Supporters, Denise & Phil, very kindly stepped up to make the epic journey to get Mouse safe for us.
I then had to find a foster home for Mouse to go straight into as we had no space's here. Thankfully for Mouse, I can be quite persuasive when I need to be!!
The wonderful Sheric & Family kindly agreed to take Mouse in.
Sheric will tell you a little about their experience with Mouse and how he's doing now...
"Mouse arrived with us in January after a call from Jodie the proceeding day asking if we could take him in as a  foster. We of course agreed!
In the coming weeks it became apparent that he was a very nervous boy and had clearly had a very difficult time over his 8 years. He was scared by everything and very reactive with other dogs however distant they were. He was actually very difficult to control on walks because of his reactivity.
We have been working with him steadily and it has been lovely to see improvements in him. At first he wouldn't take any treats or food from us and this made training harder, but very slowly he managed to accept some training treats.
He has progressed to joining Billy Greyhound by the fridge for the evening snack time and bravely deals with corned beef like a pro!
He was not keen to be outside or even leave the house, however he now loves to have the run of the whole garden with Sandi Greyhound in tow, dig a bit and check out his grounds! He gains confidence from having Billy & Sandi around too and they all get along just fine.
We had our usual holiday in Norfolk over the summer and he had lots of new experiences including a bus ride and meeting Donkeys, Horses, Cows and a Llama. He still needs his confidence building but he is a much happier boy.
His hair has grown a lot since he first arrived and on some days he can look quite fuzzy!"

We are so grateful to Sheric & her family for taking Mouse in when he desperately needed our help. He has a positive future ahead now and one where he knows what its like to be loved & looked after.

Mouse will remain as a permanent foster with Sheric & Family which mean's Castledon will be responsible for any veterinary treatment during his lifetime.

Thank you
